Integrating fire and gas safety with process control systems: Why, what and how
If a fire, smoke or gas leak is detected in a hydrocarbon processing facility, prescriptive actions must be taken by the fire and gas (F&G) safety system, as well as by the process control system (PCS), to mitigate and control the hazard.
The Authors
Bill Crosley is the Systems Product Manager at Det-Tronics, where he has held multiple positions in marketing and business development for the past 35 yr. His in-depth marketing and technical experience includes interpreting F&G codes and standards, and applying F&G safety system best practices in a variety of hazardous applications.
Mark Indgjer joined Det-Tronics in 2017 as an Applications Engineer for F&G safety systems. He has held a variety of roles in the fire industry for more than 25 yr. At present, he provides systems applications support and training for Det-Tronics. Mr. Indgjer holds a BS degree in marketing and is NICET Level II certified.
