Jacobs wins engineering pact for France gas work
Jacobs Engineering Group has received a framework contract from Electricite de France (EDF) to provide owner engineering services in support of gas infrastructure projects across Europe.
Officials did not disclose the contract value, but noted that the contract has a duration of four years.
Jacobs said it will a wide range of management, consultancy and design services relating to project management; permitting and administration; specifications and conceptual design; procurement; and supervision of construction.
The scope of the framework project consists of infrastructure development for natural gas storage and distribution, including gas pipelines, underground storage facilities and regasification terminals.
In making the announcement, Jacobs vice president Robert Matha said: "We are very pleased to have been selected by EDF for this agreement and to expand the scope of services we already provide to them in Europe.
"We are committed to supporting EDF in the development of its gas business," Matha added.
