Wood Group to supply parts for Dow US gas turbine
Dow Chemical has awarded Wood Group GTS with a contract worth up to $3.5 million to provide Advanced Parts Manufacture (APM) hot gas path components for their ABB GT11D5 gas turbine located at Dows Plaquemine chemical plant in Louisiana.
Under the contract, Wood Group GTS will provide APM capital spare parts, including rotor and stator components for the gas turbine.
Installed in 1975, the turbine is an essential source of steam and power for the petrochemical plant operation.
Wood Group GTS will also provide specialist support from an experienced engineering team to ensure in-service reliability and the availability of critical spare parts, the company said.
John Smith, mechanical technologist leader of Dow Chemical, said: During the tender process Wood Group GTS demonstrated their depth of engineering knowledge and understanding of this turbine type.
