US plastic resins output shows monthly decline

US production of major plastic resins totaled 6.1 billion pounds during November 2014, a decrease of 2.2% compared to the same month in 2013, according to statistics released today by the American Chemistry Council (ACC).
Year-to-date production was 69.6 billion pounds, a 0.4% decrease as compared to the same period in 2013.
Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 5.8 billion pounds during November 2014, a decrease of 0.6% compared to the same month one year earlier.
Year-to-date sales and captive use was 69.2 billion pounds, a 0.6% decrease as compared to the same period in 2013.
