India’s Bharat Petroleum puts out hydrocracker fire at Numaligarh refinery

India's Numaligarh Refiners Ltd. announced that it has extinguished a fire at the hydrocracker unit at its 60 Mbpd plant in the northeastern state of Assam and has resumed the process of starting up the entire plant in phases.
The refinery has been closed for about a month for routine maintenance, Numaligarh said, adding that the fire occurred during the startup of units.
Vessel number 4 of the hydrocracker was affected, and there were some injuries, the company confirmed.
Numaligarh Refinery is a subsidiary of Bharat Petroleum.
The specific cause of the fire was not disclosed. Information on those injured was not immediately available.
