Japan's Eneos says unplanned shutdown began at 145,000-bpd Sendai CDU on May 23

Japan's biggest refiner, Eneos Corp., experienced an unplanned shutdown of the 145,000-bpd crude distillation unit (CDU) at its Sendai refinery in northern Japan, starting May 23, a company spokesperson said on Thursday.

The spokesperson declined to comment on the cause of the shutdown or the expected timing of the restart.
