Chevron discovers more natural gas in offshore Western Australia
Chevron announced further drilling success by its Australian subsidiary in the Carnarvon Basin located in offshore Western Australia, Australia’s premier hydrocarbon basin. The discoveries are expected to help underpin potential expansion opportunities at the Wheatstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub, which moved to the construction phase in September 2011.
El Paso, GE open Gulf LNG regasification terminal
GE announced on Thursday that its co-owned Gulf LNG regasification and liquefied natural gas storage facility on the Gulf of Mexico has successfully begun operations. The terminal, operated by a subsidiary of El Paso Corp., is located adjacent to the Bayou Casotte Ship Channel in the Port of Pascagoula on the Gulf coast.

The total value of US oil and gas mergers and acquisitions (M&A) during the third quarter of 2011 jumped 135% as foreign investors continued to show interest in the energy sector, especially in taking positions in shale plays and upstream-related assets, according to a new study from global consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Waskom Gas Processing Co. (WGPC) has completed the previously-announced expansion of gas processing capacity at its gas processing and natural gas liquids fractionation facility in Waskom, Texas, according to part owner Martin Midstream.

Cheniere, BG ink $8 billion export deal for US LNG
BG Group has signed a fully-termed sale and purchase agreement worth about $8 billion with Cheniere Energy Partners for the purchase of 3.5 million tpy of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a 20-year period from the Sabine Pass LNG terminal located in Louisiana. LNG exports are expected to commence as early as 2015.
Williams to supply pipeline, gas processing for US Gulf development of Hess, Chevron
US natural gas infrastructure company Williams has signed agreements with Hess and Chevron to provide production handling, export pipeline, oil and gas gathering and gas processing services in the Tubular Bells field development located in the eastern deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
Chevron starts gas production at Thailand project
Chevron announced on Monday that its Thailand subsidiary has begun natural gas production from the Platong II project in the Gulf of Thailand. The $3.1 billion project is expected to ramp up production to 330 million cubic feet/ day.
Kinder Morgan expands gas treating business with SouthTex Treaters acquisition
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners has signed a definitive purchase and sale agreement to acquire SouthTex Treaters, a leading manufacturer, designer and fabricator of natural gas treating plants that remove CO2 and H2S. The cost is approximately $155 million.
