Technip wins EPC deal on Thailand elastomer plant
Michelin Siam Co. awarded Technip with a lump sum turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a new elastomer composite plant to be built in Thailand. Technip’s operating center in Bangkok, Thailand will execute the contract, which is scheduled to be completed in early 2013.
Foster Wheeler inks engineering, construction pact for Qatargas LNG
Foster Wheeler and joint venture partner Qatar Kentz have signed an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) framework agreement with Qatargas Operating Co. (Qatargas). The agreement will be for three years with an option to extend for a further two years.
Cristal, Outotec to partner on TiO2 feedstock plant in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia-based titanium dioxide (TiO2) producer Cristal Global announced what it called a groundbreaking partnership with Outotec, a leading provider of metals processing solutions. Outotec has been selected to build a new fully scalable ilmenite-processing plant for Cristal in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, estimated to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Statoil extends Technip contract for pipeline repair services in Norway
Statoil awarded Technip with a two-year extension of its pipeline repair system (PRS) services frame contract until December 1, 2014. This contract covers maintenance and operation of Statoil’s PRS Pool located at Killingøy in Haugesund, Norway.
Dow, Saudi Aramco select Jacobs for engineering, construction of chemicals venture
Jacobs Engineering Group was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract for the Chemicals 1 Envelope of Sadara Chemical Co., the joint venture between Dow Chemical and Saudi Aramco. Construction work on the project has already started and is scheduled to be completed by early 2015.

Jacobs Engineering Group has received a contract from Shell Downstream Distribution to provide project management and engineering services for Shell's European program. The three-year framework agreement has an optional two-year extension.
Fluor acquires sulfur technology business in Texas from Air Products
Fluor said on Monday that it has acquired Goar, Allison & Associates, a unit of Air Products. The Tyler, Texas-based company provides sulfur technologies for upstream gas plants, downstream refineries and gasification.
