CB&I has won a contract, valued in excess of $750 million, by Imperial Oil Resources for work on its Kearl expansion project in Alberta, Canada. Work scope includes the engineering, procurement and module assembly and construction of a second bitumen extraction plant.
Foster Wheeler lands engineering deal for Petron refinery upgrade in Philippines
Foster Wheeler says it has been awarded a contract by Petron for the company’s refinery upgrading project in Bataan, Philippines. The delayed coker unit will have a design capacity of 37,500 bbl per stream day and is a key part of the refinery upgrade.
UAE, China ink energy cooperation agreements
United Arab Emirates said Tuesday that its Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., or ADNOC, signed an energy cooperation agreement with China National Petroleum Corp., or CNPC. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in areas such as petrochemicals, technical services, engineering and construction services.
Samsung lands EPC contract for clean diesel unit at Qatar refinery
South Korea's Samsung Engineering has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract for a clean diesel-producing unit at the Qatargas-operated Laffan refinery, as the Gulf state looks to increase refined product exports. The project will come on-stream in the 2014 first quarter.
UOP lands phenol technology deal in South Korea
Honeywell’s UOP has been selected by South Korea’s Kumho P&B Chemicals to provide technology to produce key petrochemicals for the manufacture of plastics. The new units, expected to start up in 2013-2014, will produce 900,000 metric tons of cumene and 300,000 metric tons of phenol annually.
Shell picks Jacobs to engineer tunnels project for German refineries
Jacobs Engineering Group was awarded a contract from Shell to provide project management and engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm) services to support a tunnels project for refineries in Rhineland, Germany.
Technip extends subsea services pact with Statoil
France-based engineering major Technip was awarded a two-year extension within its Statoil frame contract for diving, pipeline repair, contingency and modification services. The yearly revenue under the contract is expected to be in the range of €50-80 million.
Jacobs wins engineering deal on new soda ash unit in Saudi Arabia
Jacobs has been awarded a contract from IDEA Soda Ash and Calcium Chloride Co. (ISACC) for engineering and project management on a $300 million soda ash and calcium chloride plant at Jubail's Second Industrial City. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2015.
Parker Hannifin to supply instrumentation for Shell
Global motion and control technology group Parker Hannifin has signed an agreement with Shell to supply instrumentation valves, manifolds, process-to-instrument valves, fittings, tubing, protective enclosures and related products. Financial terms were not disclosed.
