Gas Processing/LNG
TransCanada chosen for Canadian pipeline project to LNG export terminal
Calgary, Alberta-based TransCanada said it expects to finalize definitive agreements for the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission project early this year. The proposed pipeline will transport natural gas primarily from the North Montney gas-producing region near Fort St. John, British Columbia.
Fluor, JGC win design work for Mozambique LNG
The FEED work will deliver designs for the initial phase of the Mozambique LNG project of four trains, each train capable of producing 5 million tpy of liquefied natural gas (20 million tpy total). The project has the potential to expand its capacity up to approximately 50 million tpy of LNG in the future.
Maryland court denies objection to Dominion LNG export proposal
Dominion will move forward with engineering and regulatory review processes after a judgment confirmed its right to build liquefaction facilities at the group's Cove Point facility.
China to boost LNG imports to meet winter demand
The National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planning body, called on energy companies last week to ensure supplies and maximum output to cope with winter demand. China imports LNG primarily from Qatar, Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia.
CB&I, Chiyoda win engineering, design work for Mozambique LNG trains
The FEED will deliver designs for the initial phase of the Mozambique LNG project of four trains each with 5 million tpy of LNG production capacity. This project is the first LNG project in Mozambique, and it has the potential to expand its capacity up to approximately 50 million tpy of LNG in the future.
Optimize LNG boil-off gas systems for regasification terminals
Depending on LNG composition, N2 content and plant operating mode, an operating pressure of 7 barg to 8 barg was found by the study to be the optimum pressure range.
Viability of GTL for the North American gas market
New developments in FT technology will enable economically viable gas-to-liquids (GTL) facilities at a smaller scale, compared with existing industrial facilities.
Molecular sieves in gas processing: Effects and consequences by contaminants
The principles of adsorption on molecular sieves are easy to understand, but practice sometimes reveals traps to avoid.
Improve evaluation of brittle-fracture resistance for vessels
This article discusses a new approach and spreadsheet tool for engineers that can be used to provide operating pressure limits as a function of vessel-metal temperatures.
HP Boxscore Construction Analysis: Is the US nearing the next construction boom?
US activity will be led by LNG liquefaction and export terminals, along with new and expanded fractionators, ethylene crackers and other petrochemical infrastructure.
