Canada approves LNG exports for Shell, partners from British Columbia
LNG Canada, a consortium led by Royal Dutch Shell, is the second group to win a license from the Canadian government. Shell's partners in the project include PetroChina Co., Korea Gas Corp. and Japan's Mitsubishi. Last July, Shell applied for a license to export up to 24 million tpy of LNG.

Japan boosts imports of Russian LNG, crude oil
Japan's imports of liquefied natural gas from Russia rose 17% to 8.3 million metric tons last year, while its imports of Russian crude oil increased 10% to 10.02 million kiloliters, or about 172,000 bpd. Japan also imported 8.12 million tons of thermal coal from Russia in 2012, up 8.1% from 2011.
Idemitsu partners with AltaGas to export LNG, LPG from Canada to Japan
Under the 50:50 plan by oil refiner Idemitsu and gas pipeline operator AltaGas, the two may build an LNG export terminal near Kitimat in British Columbia, possibly starting LNG exports mainly to Japan as early as 2017. The venture also plans to develop a liquefied petroleum gas export business.
Repsol likely to sell global LNG assets to Shell
Repsol was initially looking to raise some €3 billion via the sale, but the final figure could be much lower, in the ballpark of €2 billion. The LNG assets are located in Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and Spain.
