Air Products has agreed to acquire all of DuPont's interest in DuPont Air Products NanoMaterials, the two companies' 50-50 joint venture serving the global semiconductor and wafer polishing industries. The venture state-of-the-art applications and formulation laboratories in the US and Taiwan.
Jacobs wins engineering work for Solvay specialty polymers plant in China
Jacobs Engineering Group was awarded a contract from Solvay for a specialty polymers production plant to be built at Solvay's industrial site in Changshu, located in the province of Jiangsu, China. The plant is scheduled to become operational in the first quarter of 2014 and significantly boost Solvey's capacity.
Repsol to align with Pemex on downstream work in Americas, Spain, Portugal
Spain-based Repsol signed a strategic industrial alliance with Pemex, for 10 years, looking for synergies and profits in the short and medium term. The agreement involves cooperation in upstream and LNG in the Americas and downstream operations in the Americas, Spain and Portugal.
Momentive to expand silicones production in India
Momentive Performance Materials is expanding its specialty silicones manufacturing facility and application development center in Chennai, India. The expansion is part of Momentive’s long-standing commitment to India and the surrounding regions, the company said. Capacity details were not disclosed.
Blackwater to boost storage capacity at Georgia chemical terminal
Blackwater Midstream will add 60,000 barrels of chemical storage capacity at its terminal site in Brunswick, Georgia, the company said on Wednesday. The Brunswick site will grow from its current capacity of 161,000 bbl to a total of 221,000 bbl after construction is completed.
Mitsui to license polyurethane technology to SABIC
The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) signed a TDI and MDI technology license agreement with Mitsui Chemicals under which Mitsui will provide manufacturing technology for producing TDI and MDI. The firms say they will explore future possibilities to collaborate in the polyurethane (PU) business.
Axens technology chosen for linear alpha-olefins at Russia petrochemical project
ZAO Far East Petrochemical Company (FEPCO), which is implementing the NK Rosneft project of OJSC for a new petrochemical complex to be located in Primorsk region of Russia, has selected Axens’ AlphaButol and AlphaHexol technologies to produce high-purity linear alpha-olefins.
Formosa eyes new olefins cracker in Texas
Formosa Plastics will build a 800,000 tpy olefins cracker, a 600,000 tpy propane dehydrogenation unit and a 300,000 tpy low-density polyethylene plant at its Point Comfort site.
