The U.S. produced more energy in 2024 than ever before
In 2024, the U.S. produced a record amount of energy, according to data in the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA’s) Monthly Energy Review. U.S. total energy production was more than 103 quadrillion British thermal units in 2024, a 1% increase from the previous record set in 2023. Several energy sources—natural gas, crude oil, natural gas plant liquids, biofuels, solar and wind—each set domestic production records last year.
Honeywell to acquire Sundyne to expand critical equipment portfolio and aftermarket services
Honeywell has agreed to acquire Sundyne from private equity firm Warburg Pincus for $2.16 billion in an all-cash transaction. This represents approximately 14.5x 2024 EBITDA on a tax-adjusted basis.
Howard Energy Partners acquires ethylene pipeline from EPIC Midstream Holdings
Howard Energy Partners (HEP) has closed on the purchase of EPIC Midstream Holdings’ ethylene pipeline. The 120-mi, 12-in. bidirectional pipeline provides critical ethylene transportation, connecting Gulf Coast Growth Venture’s petrochemical complex in Corpus Christi to storage facilities in Markham, Texas.

Proceeds from the investment are expected to be used to further the development and construction of potential natural gas-to-gasoline production plants in the Permian Basin (U.S.). North Dakota utility regulators have approved a $3.2-B gas-to-liquids plant project by Canadian company Cerilon, to be built near Trenton in Williams County. The plant will convert natural gas into higher-value products like diesel fuel and lubricants.
