Foster Wheeler lands project management deal for Abu Dhabi aromatics facility
Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by Abu Dhabi National Chemicals Co. (ChemaWEyaat) for project management consultancy (PMC) services on an aromatics complex and supporting infrastructure. The PMC services are for the front-end design (FEED) phase of the ChemaWEyatt project.
Mitsubishi, Notore form joint venture for ammonia, urea complex in Nigeria
Notore Chemical Industries has signed a joint venture agreement with Japan-based Mitsubishi to develop an ammonia, urea and other petrochemicals plant at its existing facility at Onne, Rivers State, Nigeria. The new plant, built on a brownfield site, is expected to come on-stream in 2016.
Alfa Laval to supply heat exchangers for Morocco fertilizer producer
Heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling company Alfa Laval has won an order to supply Alfa Laval plate heat exchangers to a fertilizer producer in Morocco. Delivery is scheduled to start during 2012 and be finalized in 2014. The plate heat exchangers will be used in a cooling process.
Iran accuses Saudi Arabia of breaking OPEC ceiling
Iran accused Saudi Arabia of breaching a collective OPEC agreement, reviving fears that the group could fracture again when it meets in June. Any new split within the group - which is set debate output again mid-June - could impede its ability to both coordinate production and to keep a lid on price volatility.

SABIC picks Jacobs for engineering on Netherlands olefins cracker upgrade
Jacobs has been awarded a contract from SABIC to provide engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services to support the upgrade of an olefins at SABIC's complex in Geleen, The Netherlands. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2013.

Oryx starts up lube oil blending plant in West Africa
Oryx Oil & Gas has started up a new lube oil blending plant (LOBP) in Togo, West Africa, the contractor involved with the project said this week. The plant has an output capacity of 18,000 tpy and is expected to serve all segments and markets in West Africa, especially the minerals and mining industry.
