BG to sell 40% stake in Chile LNG plant to Enagas

UK-based BG Group agreed to sell its 40% equity interest in the GNL Quintero (GNLQ) liquefied natural gas terminal to Spain-based Enagas. The agreements reached apply to BG Group's shareholding in GNLQ - the owner and operator of the 2.5 million tpy regasification terminal in Quintero, Chile.

Kinder Morgan to buy out KKR in US natural gas JV

Natural gas pipeline operator Kinder Morgan Energy Partners L said it is taking full ownership of a natural gas joint venture by buying the 50% interest it doesn't already own from KKR & Co. for $300 million in KMP shares. The deal is expected to close by the end of May.

The Venezuelan government has secured $1 billion in loans from a consortium of Japanese companies, led by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, most of which will go toward expanding the South American country's El Palito refinery. Halliburton files protest against BP spill settlement

Halliburton is objecting to BP’s proposed $7.8 billion settlement with individual plaintiffs for its involvement in the Deepwater Horizon oil rig disaster. The Houston-based company also contends BP's settlement would make Halliburton responsible for paying at least part of the settlement.

Methanex inks offtake deal with OCI for restarted Texas methanol plant

Canada-based Methanex has entered into a long-term offtake agreement with Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) for a significant portion of the production from the OCI methanol plant in Beaumont, Texas. OCI has said the Beaumont plant will produce 750,000 tpy of methanol.

Conoco refining spinoff Phillips 66 to join S&P 500

Phillips 66, the refining company splitting from ConocoPhillips, will replace Supervalu in Standard & Poor's 500-stock index at the end of the month. The index includes 500 leading large-cap US companies. Once complete, Phillips 66 plans to expand its chemical and midstream operations.
